Connection:

Hi, is ______ there?

Hi, _____, this is _____, I'm a local member with our MoveOn Council. How's it going?

Context

I am calling MoveOn members in the [TOWN] area because we are working to [insert urgent language on the campaign]. Do you have a few minutes to talk?

[If no, ask when you should call again.]

[If yes] Great. [Provide more context about the campaign].

Here is an example from the POWER UP AMERICA Campaign: "As you may know, Move On recently launched a major campaign, Power Up America. We're organizing to make sure Congress commits to legislation this year that would create 5 million good green jobs, and move us to 100% clean energy within 10 years."

What do you think of that idea?

[Listen and respond to them.]

Committment (the ask):

[Describe the event you are inviting them. Tell them the date and time.] Can you make it?

Catapult:

[If yes]: Great. I'm so glad you're coming -- it is really important we get as many people involved as possible. Here are all the details (address, restate time and date).

It's important that you sign up for this event online so that you can get all the up-to-date information about the meeting. Just go to (provide correct website), put in our zip code, and our event will pop up.

Is this the best number for me to reach you at? What's your email address? I'll also email you the link to sign up online for our event.

Also, do you have any friends or family members who might be interested in coming?

I'm really looking forward to meeting you there. Again, my name is ______ and you can ask for me when you get to the event.

[If no] Thanks-- hopefully we'll catch you next time.
