Recruitment Coordinator and Team Job Description

 


MoveOn Councils are instrumental in building the progressive movement by bringing together MoveOn Members locally to develop leadership and organize actions.

The Recruitment Coordinator works to make sure that the Council is growing and that MoveOn members are participating in local MoveOn events.


Responsibilities of a Recruitment Coordinator and Recruitment Team Members:


Contact members before events

  • Before each event, every Council member should receive a call and an email alerting them of the action, and giving them the link to sign up for the event.

  • The Recruitment Coordinator also participates in recruiting MoveOn members who are not yet Council members to come out to Council events.

  • On the day prior to the event, every event attendee should receive a reminder call and email.


Recruit new members at events.

  • Welcome members to the event, and to ask them to sign up for the Council. Sign-up sheets are provided on the materials page for every event, and are available on your Council page.

  • Make a 2-3 minute Council recruitment pitch at every event.


Follow up with new members after events.

  • Add any new Council members to your Council page.

  • Give new members a follow-up call welcoming them to the Council and invite them to the next Council planning call or event.


Responsibilities of the Recruitment Coordinator:

  • Coordinators will participate in a recruitment training and Recruitment Coordinator orientation.

  • The Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for building the Recruitment Team, and organizing the ongoing recruitment work of the team.

  • Recruitment Coordinators can expect to spend 6-8 hours a month on their Council responsibilities.

  • Good communication is an essential part of coordinating the Recruitment Team-- the Recruitment Coordinator will work closely with the Council Coordinator to plan the recruitment for upcoming actions and share feedback about the overall organizing of the Council.
