Overview of Canvassing Materials

Here’s everything you need to go canvassing this weekend. Don’t forget to bring a few extra sets of materials in case anyone brings a friend.

For each person canvassing you need:

  • 1 copy of the 1-page instructions (including script)
  • 5 window signs (new!)
  • 40 fliers (note: it's important not to leave these in mailboxes as that's illegal)
  • 1 name tag (printed 6 to a page: you can print these on plain paper or on any 3-1/3" x 4" label such as Avery label #s 5164, 5264, 8164, or 8254.)
  • 1 volunteer sign-up sheet
  • 1 clipboard. If you don’t have any, you can also cut a 9 x 11 piece of cardboard and use a rubber band at the top.
  • 2-3 pens--they have a way of disappearing, so it pays to bring extras
  • 1 map. Click here to see our guide to plotting out where to canvass

All the materials you can click to download above are Acrobat PDF files, for which you need the free Acrobat Reader software.
