Materials for the Rallies to Stop the Judicial Takeover

Please bring the following materials with you to your rally. And if you're coordinating, bring extra!
1. Instruction sheet for rally attendees & chants sheet
These rallies will be more participatory than most -- please print out and bring our instructions for joining in, along with our suggested chants (and add your own!).:

2. Signs
NOTE: Plain paper signs tend to run or even dissolve in the rain. If it's rainy in your area, pick up a box of clear gallon-size ziploc bags and bring it to the rally. Put each of your signs in a bag to protect it, and distribute the extras to other folks who need them.
To boost media coverage and catch the public's attention, we want to create a memorable and striking scene. We'll spread out with these signs in front of courthouses and federal buildings to dramatize, in stark visual terms, Republicans leaders' basic plan: seize control of the judicial nominations process, and use that to take the courts away from the American people and turn them into a tool of narrow right-wing special interests.
Print one or more of the following signs. If you tape or glue two together back to back, they'll be legible to people on all sides if you hold them up in the air (avoiding embarassing newspaper photos taken from behind the crowd where all you can see are the backs of peoples' signs). And if you can, print out the big ones -- they'll be easier to read.

*To make the larger signs, print all 4 pages out, trim them, and glue or tape them together on a cardboard backing.
(If your rally isn't in front of a courthouse or federal building, you might want to make your own signs with more conventional slogans like "Our Courts, Our Rights", "No Right-Wing Judicial Takeover" and "Hands Off the Supreme Court").
3. Optional flyers
Make copies of the appropriate flyer for your state, to hand out to people passing by.

If you are still having trouble, ask a tech-savvy friend for help or try downloading and printing it at work or at a copy shop. Unfortunately, we can't offer individual tech support.
