Host a MoveOn.org Political Action Organizer and help Defeat Bush

Your Help Makes a Difference

This week, the first of hundreds of skilled organizers will begin helping MoveOn volunteers contact potential Kerry voters in their neighborhoods, as part of our groundbreaking Leave No Voter Behind project.  Some of our organizers already live in the area where they'll be working. But many of our organizers are talented and experienced activists who are leaving family, friends, and co-workers behind to serve in the most important campaign of our lifetimes.  Most of them still need a place to stay.

What to Expect

Our organizers will only be in town from now until November 5th.  So renting an apartment is impractical, and living in a hotel is both difficult and expensive.  That's why we’re looking for MoveOn members who can host an organizer through Election Day to help defeat President Bush. Organizers will be working as many as 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. They’ll be leaving early and coming home late.  So you probably won't see much of your guest organizer.  If you sign up to host an organizer, a staff person will contact you to make all the necessary arrangements.  We’ll do our best to accommodate any special needs you have.  Can you host an organizer to help defeat Bush? Fill out the form below if we can count on you:

Privacy Policy

We do not share the information you’ve given us with unaffiliated groups without your explicit permission.

Petitions and Surveys

For petitions and surveys you've signed or completed, we treat your name, city, state, and comments as public information - for example, we may provide compilations of petitions, with your comments, to the President and legislators, other targets, or to the press. We will not make your street address publicly available, but we may transmit it to members of Congress and to the President as part of a petition. This is a standard industry practice in such situations. In no such case will we disclose your email address or phone number without your permission. We may also make your comments, along with your first name, city, and state available to the press and public online.

Under circumstances where we determine that members may be misusing our systems for malicious purposes (for example, using the numbers we provide to make harassing phone calls), such activities may be reported to law enforcement agencies. In such cases, MoveOn may release personally identifiable information, including name and address, to those agencies.

Sending Emails Via MoveOn.org Political Action

In certain cases, we enable you to send individual e-mails to the President, legislators, and other targets as well as Letters-to-the-Editor to various news publications, through our website. These messages are sent in your name, with your e-mail address as the return address and your full name and contact information is provided as part of the submission. These messages will only be sent out under your name as you approve them on an individual basis using our email tool. You are solely responsible for the specific message(s) you send using our email tool.
