Vetting Guidelines for Holiday Call Parties
- This is a Model A action -- Support Corps marks things as questionable if they don't meet guidelines below.
- FOs are responsible for marking all events in their turf as one of the following:
- "vetted" AND "email ready" --- this is a fully-vetted event that will get central emails and show up on Council pages.
- "vetted" but NOT "email ready" --- this is a good event in most ways, so it should remain public and show up on Council pages, but it isn't appropriate for central email (i.e., it's on the wrong day).
- private --- this is an event that doesn't meet some basic vetting guidelines, and it shouldn't show up on Council pages.
- Vetting deadlines are:
- Mon 12/7 5 PM EST - Bob & Vetting Deadline #1 for Holiday Call Parties. (This is the final deadline to post Holiday Call Parties in Bob to get access to call lists.)
- Thurs 12/10 5 PM EST - Vetting Deadline #2 only for non-calling Holiday Parties. (Note: Events posted after Mon 12/7 can't get lists to make phone calls at their party.)
- Check out the one-stop-shop for the full schedule of upcoming vetting deadlines and materials and mailings.
- To get a central email, your events must be marked "Vetted" and "Email-Ready."
- Date and time restrictions on which events can get central email recruitment:
- Parties must take place on Sat or Sun, 12/12-13.
- Exception: East Coast Councils can also get central support for parties on Friday night, 12/11.
- Parties that are planning on calling must start between 12pm and 7:30 pm ET (9am and 4:30pm PT).
- Venue restrictions: Private homes are best. Other venues must meet the legal guidelines laid out in the guide.
- Things to watch out for:
- Make sure the party is posted in the correct Bob, "Council Holiday Party" (Bob 199).
- The target doesn't matter for this event.
- If you have a party that you know is NOT planning to make phone calls, please say so in the notes.
- FO's with questions should check with their LO immediately, several days before the vetting deadline. LO's should check w/ Jodeen and Anna (please put "VETTING" in the subject line).
- The EVENT DESCRIPTION should be clear, straight-forward, and understandable. NOT weird, confusing, or offensive.
- The Event Description for invitation email and Instructions for at the event fields should be grammatical and clear; however, these will not go into the central recruitment email.
- The MAX CAPACITY should be at least 20. That's because we could recruit a lot of people to this event, and we don't want it to fill up too quickly.
- Partner groups: It's OK to approve an event that is partnering with other local or national groups -- as long as:
- They meet the overall vetting guidelines and action criteria (see above, particular last point and subpoints).
- The group doesn't raise huge political concerns (eg. Larouche PAC is not okay).
- There is no illegal component in the event description (we are not recruiting centrally for actions involving civil disobedience).
