Message from your host, Mark G.: Join us for Nothing is Scarier than No Health Insurance, a Costumed rally. We are extremely excited to be having this event as part of the national "Big Insurance, Sick of it" Initiative.

Some of you may consider wearing costumes quirky, but it is different enough to cause a stir without overpow...(more)ering our message. Our goals are sincere enough to use that attention effectively. Effectively means we can put a human face on people that are being denied healthcare and the appropriate (scary) face on the health insurance industry. We all know that they are making massive profits by gouging us and doing all they can to avoid caring for us. Now is our best chance to show why we need a strong public health insurance option to prevent them from driving up costs, why denying coverage is wrong, why the health insurance industry are doing their best to water down changes, and why they are spending a lot of money to knowingly spreading false information about the reforms. We need to overcome these challenges and continue to get the truth out.

Help us demand that these insurance companies stop blocking meaningful Health Care Reform. And even more important, help us inspire Senator Kerry and others to reshape the senate finance committee bill to favor us, the people, over these companies bottom line! And to remind ourselves and everyone else that:

* Nothing is Scarier than the current health insurance system.
* Nothing is scarier than no coverage,
* Nothing is scarier than prices that keep rising until we cannot afford them,
* Nothing is scarier than being denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition.

Please join us and feel free to:

* Dress up in your most frightening costume, because the health insurance industry is scary,
* Create and share your inspiring cheers, because we all need the encouragement,
* Share your health insurance horror story, because everyone needs to see faces like theirs and connect them to the tragic situations that we know!

But most important: Be there to show that NOTHING is scarier that the current health care system! Nothing is Scarier than No Health Insurance
