Host a Local Progressive Action
Thanks for organizing a progressive action in your community.
Local Progressive Actions are public-facing advocacy events, such as petition deliveries, rallies, speak-outs, or vigils, where the goal is to influence an elected official, candidate for public office, corporate CEO, or other decision-makers to support your position. If you are planning a meeting, a teach-on, or some other non-public facing event, don't post it here. Instead, post your event as a Progressive Community Building Event by using this link: http:// pol.moveon.org /event/create.html?action_id= 264.
To get started, fill out the form below with the information about your event. If you have a question about what type of event is appropriate to register, talk to your Council or Regional Organizer if you're part of a local MoveOn Council. Otherwise, email help@moveon.org for any questions you may have.
To make sure your event is eligible for our system of inviting other MoveOn members to it, your event needs to be registered in the system at least 5 business days before the event and the recruitment email will go out 2-4 days before the event.
A MoveOn Support Corps member will reach out to you if there are any questions about your event or details that need to be added to the posting before a recruitment email can be sent. The sooner the event is in the system, the better!

Host Ground Rules
We have tried to provide all the information you will need on our website (more information is available after you post your event). We will work hard to review all questions that are emailed to us, but it's a good idea to look at the district meeting guide (on your Host Tools Page).
By creating an event, you are agreeing to serve as the host of the event. Your responsibilities as host include:
- Arranging that all the necessary materials are brought to the event (you can ask other participants for help).
- Contacting and communicating with the people who participate in your event. We will encourage attendees not to attend an event where the host has not confirmed their participation.
- Filing a quick post-meeting report.
I agree to the hosting ground rules for this event.
