I voiced my opposition to any cuts in SS because I know too many recipients that are just barely getting by at the current levels. When one couples this with Republican attacks on working families the issue becomes even more serious...earning less as a worker means a lesser opportunity for a private retirement account, it means less in overall savings and then after the worker battles through that they are given reduced SS payments! All so we can keep coddling millionaires and funding an oversized military.

I didn't need to call Sen Rockefeller because he is already committed to stop any deal that includes cuts to Social Security benefits. Sen. Manchin is the one who's weak-kneed.

i have called these men at least twice and implored them to not cut social security, medicare or medicaid but i don,t think it makes any difference.manchin was not understanding or sympathetic as i gathered from his letter back to me.he openly supports "catfood"commission. big money has already spoken. sorry i voted obama. 69 years old liberal democrat, they(democrats) always cave.
