Webb: Aide would not comment will pass remarks on to Mr. Webb Warner: Left a message It is useless to get a committal from them so don't even bother to ask.

— Mechanicsville, 2012-12-18 08:22:48

I left a message for both senators. It will be delivered to them by the end of the day. I believe they will listen to us and do care about our oppinion.

These are not entitlements. We PAID for them. Do not compromise on our investment.

— Newport News, 2012-12-18 09:14:45

Senator Webb's staff says he hasn't made a statement yet. I urged him to not accept a deal with cuts to SS. Left a voice mail message for Senator Warner repeating the same.

— Rustburg, 2012-12-18 09:17:34

Please do not cut Social Security and other benefits. We also do not want the Fiscal Cliff to happen to us. Let's not do this.

— Jefferson Mnr, 2012-12-18 09:20:09

I talked to an aide who just wanted my comment. I told him Social Security contributes nothing to the deficit when fully funded (as it should be) by the payroll tax, and on the contrary funds the deficit by putting the surplus into government bonds. The aide asked for my zipcode and that was it.

— Salem, 2012-12-18 09:26:48

Left messages for both senators, explained that I am a disabled adult on SS and Medicare and that I can't make it NOW...I am struggling with trying to decide about a surgery I need because I cannot afford the deductible. Further cuts to these programs are outrageous, I asked that they stop the REAL entitlements, the ones from the Bush tax cuts and that they consider cuts to defense spending, not programs for elderly, disabled, or poor people.

— Lexington, 2012-12-18 09:37:41

Call both number left message

Please do not allow any cuts to Social Security! Make protecting Social Security one of your last actions before you leave Congress!!

— Hillsville, 2012-12-18 09:41:43

No cuts to social security, end bush tax cuts to wealthy, BAN all assualt weapons for civilian purchases. Two voters in this house hold.

— Bristow, 2012-12-18 10:17:58

I was told my message would be relayed to the Senator

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-18 10:19:35

Left message on their opinion voice mail

— Chester, 2012-12-18 10:19:57

neither senator has issued a position on this issue-more political bullshit- and both senators' staff persons said they'd let their senators know. I told them that they're the only gate keepers now of why I voted for the president. Obama can give anything he wants to john boner, but the congress HAVE to take the risks. But these legislators-all of them- have shown consistently that their own short-term well being comes first, and they are all in someone's pocket in some way or other-"a man can't have two masters"

— Winchester, 2012-12-18 10:32:55

Had to leave message.

— Richmond, 2012-12-18 10:33:36

Told him it is important to determines all other cuts that could be made before cuts to social security, medicare and medicaid program that benefit a large portion of the general public.

— Richmond, 2012-12-18 10:45:03

I left message with Liza, requesting no cuts/changes to Social Security. I am a Senior!

— Hampton, 2012-12-18 10:45:38

I stressed in my message that SS should not be linked to any 'bargain' on debt talks, SS is not a driver of US debt and should be involved.

— Gate City, 2012-12-18 10:47:26

Spoke to staff. Told him SS should not be part of these negotiations. I strongly objected to it. He said he would let Senator Webb know.

— Burke, 2012-12-18 10:48:16

The phone was answered by his assistant/secretary (I don't know the title of the person) who said the debate is still going on and that he didn't know which way Jim Webb was inclined. I told him to give my message to him about the social security cuts.

— Alexandria, 2012-12-18 10:48:16

I left sucinct messages for both ens. Warner and Webb. I have also sent an e-mail to the White House. The President set reasonable ways of cost reduction; he should not back down.

— Virginia, 2012-12-18 10:50:31

I left messages requesting that they oppose any cuts to Social Security

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-18 10:52:33

Neither Senator has made a statement regarding social security.

— Chesapeake, 2012-12-18 10:52:34

Staff member said Jim Webb has not made a public statement on the issue therefore he can not comment. I gave my opinion....

— Alexandria, 2012-12-18 11:03:13

Spoke with a member of his team and asked that he take up for social security, no cuts. They advised they would pass it along to him. Called both got the same response that they would pass it along.

— Fredericksburg, 2012-12-18 11:13:12

There were no comments because I left a message for both the senators.

— Salem, 2012-12-18 11:22:56

i'm not eligible for SS (federal retiree) BUT others depend on it.... Please don't weaken it... rather raise the contributory limit

— arlington, 2012-12-18 11:41:25

Spoke with staff. They would only commit to pass on my message. They asked for my zip code, but I doubt they even took down my name.

— Leesburg, 2012-12-18 11:55:36

left message with both

— Arlington, 2012-12-18 11:58:27

Did not speak to anyone. Push 1 to leaave a message about an opinion. called back and spoke to one of his aides ans was to she would pass the message on to him.

— Henrico, 2012-12-18 12:12:38

More money for people that do not need or want the money. Less money for people that resparately need the money is inhumane.

— Manassas, 2012-12-18 12:15:44

Staffer said he would let Senator Warner know.

— richmond, 2012-12-18 12:18:50

I Left a message. Warner's staff said she will let him know? Web's staff asked me to leave a message on his voice mail???!!!Once they are hired, they sit on the top of the world!! I hope it worked, but won't count on it.

— Great Falls, 2012-12-18 12:22:11

As with Sen. Warner, the staff person on the phone did not know where Sen. Webb stood. I'm 76 years old, and I told her that was bullshit. Of course I apologized for my language.

— Chincoteague Island, 2012-12-18 12:26:32

NO changes - lets put all senators and congressman on same system of social security - then let them change it to affect all equally including themselves

— Charlottesville, 2012-12-18 12:26:54

Senator Webb's office just asked for my zip code and said "thank you for calling."

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-18 12:29:00

I understand that you may be in favor of lowering my SS benifits. I have paid into that account since 1964 and if anything, I deserve a better return in my investment, certainly not a reduction in my benifits. Please do not support any bill that will lower SS benifits. Joseph Hoggard

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-18 12:35:04

left message for Webb: Spoke wit office rep. stated mesage

— Newport News, 2012-12-18 12:45:00

Basically talked to the staffers and everything is on the table and I told them both not to mess with our SS or Medicare.

— Charlottesville, 2012-12-18 12:45:34

Spoke to staff and asked them to convey my message. SS is off the table. Don't mess with SS benefits.

— Reston, 2012-12-18 12:59:12

I spoke with their staff and said to please pass on the message to the senators to stop any deal that would include cutting social security benefits.

— Athens, 2012-12-18 13:13:52

Senator Webb: spoke with aide who thanked me for calling and "will let the senator know. Senator Warner: mailbox is full

— Christiansburg, 2012-12-18 13:14:06

Webb's office said thanks for the message. Warner's staff said that Warner has stated that he is opposed to using Social Security and medicare funds to balance the budget.

— Arlington, 2012-12-18 13:21:50

Sen. Webb's and Sen. Warner's phone mail boxes were full. I left the messages with a staff member, along with my name and zip. Also, I suggested that since so much of the deficit is from two "free" wars, Americans should buy war bonds to help pay for them, as we did in WWII.

— Fairfax, 2012-12-18 13:24:37

Sen Warner's comment box was full so I re called and spoke to a staffer and she said she would pass this info on to the Sen. LM with Webb also.

— Alexandria, 2012-12-18 13:26:12

I left message for both Senators, letting them know I'm furious with President Obama, we didn't go out and work so hard to keep him in office for him give in to congress, when they are the prime reason for us to be in this mess in the first place. I'm steaming.

— Norfolk, 2012-12-18 13:31:29

What I told them was that in no way should they tolerate a lesser calculation for SS or Federal Retirement. And until Texas oilmen, hedge fund managers and Ashton Martin owners (see WP of 12/18) are taxed on all income at 50%, don't even think of cutting benefits to people that are already just scaping by.

— , 2012-12-18 13:40:29

left a message for Warner; spoke with staffer in Webb's office, he said that he'd pass on my request to vote no to any SS cuts!

— Luray, 2012-12-18 13:43:32

don't mess with Social Security. When you or your counter parts mess up next time if you played with SS what will be left?

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-18 13:43:34

No response from offices--message left.

— Arlington, 2012-12-18 13:45:13

Please get the money from corporations that get huge tax breaks and still pay little to no taxes.

— silver spring, 2012-12-18 13:47:17

I left a message on both "commment lines"...

— Warrenton, 2012-12-18 13:56:03

I spoke to an office aide earlier this afternoon and strongly insisted that Senator Warner not to support President Obama in which the President proposes any cuts or changes to the cost of living adjustment in any deal cut with the Speaker of the House. I left a message to the same effect on Senator Jim Webb's answering machine

— annandale, 2012-12-18 14:01:56

Spoke to staff members for both Senators and they said they would pass my comments along to the Senators.

— Vinton, 2012-12-18 14:06:15

Called after 5, so was only able to leave a message. But thanks for making it so easy!

— Richmond, 2012-12-18 14:08:32

Left a message says all

— Onancock,, 2012-12-18 14:10:28

Senator Webb's staffer said she would pass the message along. Sen. Warner's staffer said that Sen. Warner's position is in line with protecting Social Security for the next 35 years.

— Charlottesville, 2012-12-18 14:12:34

I did not speak directly to the senators but left a message

— Palmyra, 2012-12-18 14:13:17

Warner's office would only say he is looking for a bipartisan solution--- Webb's office said he has not made a public statement so they could not speak for him--

— Salem, 2012-12-18 14:14:29

Called and left messages

— Arlington, 2012-12-18 14:15:37

Just left messages

— Fairfax, 2012-12-18 14:16:48

I left messages for both Senators. I ask them not to cut SS or Medicare benfits and make the the top 2% pay more. This is long over due!

— Fx Station, 2012-12-18 14:24:54

Told them I expect them to reject any fiscal cliff deal that includes cuts to Social Security or Medicare cuts, and to support the President's campaign pledge to increase taxes on incomes over $250,000 annually. Also reminded them that with the expiration of the Social Security Tax Holiday at the end of the year, I know in effect it is raising taxes upon myself, and I am prepared to accept that. The Republicans are posing as bargaining from a position of strength, when in fact, 60% of Americans are expecting this to happen, and 55% are prepared to blame the Republicans if it does not. Let it play out!!!!!

— Pembroke, 2012-12-18 14:26:08

left a message for both of them...

— alexandria, 2012-12-18 14:30:25

I spode to a staff member in each office and requested that each senator not support anything that wouold disadvantage social security. the staff member consented to pass on my message to the senator.

— Chesapeake, 2012-12-18 14:33:16

Left message for Senator Mark Warner to stop any deal involving Social Security cuts.

— Providence Forge, 2012-12-18 15:07:19

Sent emails to Senators Webb and Warner and to Rep. Morgan Griffith - urging that their votes not force our Seniors to bear the sacrifice of the budget so that our wealthiest can avoid a tax increase.

— Salem, 2012-12-18 15:20:17

— , 2012-12-18 15:43:23

If you think calling their offices get the caller a chance to speak with Senators, you're delusional. I spoke with low-level office aides, like everyone else. All they said was that they'd pass the message on.

— Herndon, 2012-12-18 15:43:37

No change to Social Security Benefit please. Make top 2% to pay more tax.

— Springfield,, 2012-12-18 15:53:52

— springfield, 2012-12-18 16:31:50

Please use your influence to stop any proposed cuts to Social Security and Medicare benefits!

— Springfield, 2012-12-18 18:25:12

No health cuts S.S or Medicade/Medicare

— Richmond, 2012-12-18 21:14:42

I just called both Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb advising them that I Do Not Want them agreeing to ANY CUTS IN BENEFITS IN Social Security AT ALL.

— chesapeake, 2012-12-19 06:23:37

help to keep social security off the table. fight to keep ity for the people who worked hard for it

— roanoke, 2012-12-19 06:59:28

My mother's current 1.7 % COLA increase was wiped out by her increased Medicare costs. Was told by staffer Liza that she would pass on my comments.

— , 2012-12-19 07:09:11

They would pass my concern on to the Senators.

— Woodbridge, 2012-12-19 07:12:48

No one in Senator Webb's office at 10:19am; left message. Sen.Warner's staff took mess.not to mess w/ SS.; said the Sen. has not yet stated where he stands on the legislation.

— , 2012-12-19 07:22:31

spoke with aide who answered. Said she would pass on my urging

— richmond, 2012-12-19 07:46:21

I spoke with their staff and left my message (urging not to include SS or Medicare cuts in any fiscal cliff negotiations). In each case they said the Senator had not made up his mind. They said they would make an announcement through the press when they did make a decision. I asked them to communicate that as a constituent I would like to urge the Senator to make up his mind soon and to stop any benefit cuts. (Called around 9:30 am).

— Reston, 2012-12-19 08:00:32

I could not get through to Sen. Warner's office due to high volume of calls thismorning. So I left a message. By the way, the congressional aides I talk to when Imake these calls are always non-commital as to the member of Congress' position on any given issue

— Charlottesville, 2012-12-19 08:08:58

Given the option of speaking with staff or giving an opinion about a matter, I chose the latter thinking that would be where a needed count for him would exist.

— Petersburg, 2012-12-19 09:03:53

I called both Senators offices and spoke with staff members who assured me they would pass the information on.

— , 2012-12-19 09:35:14

Did not get a firm, "no changes" to Social Security. Some double talk - especially over chain CPI - did get an acknowledgement that it effected beneficiaries.

— Roanoke, 2012-12-19 09:51:00

The staff promised me they would get the message to the senator.

— winchester, 2012-12-19 09:52:09

Did not get an affirmative response to supporting no changes. Did get Warners staff to admit "chain CPI" would effect beneficiaries.

— roanoke, 2012-12-19 09:53:07

I left a message asking the senators not to cut any of the social security benefits!

— virginia beach, 2012-12-19 11:11:21

Aides said there wasn't a public position yet.

— Bluemont, 2012-12-19 12:39:08

left msgs for both at 4.25pm

— Richmond, 2012-12-19 13:26:12

called for walter moore sandy moore and minna moore

— williamsburg, 2012-12-19 14:30:30

Talked with staff in Jim Webb's and Mark Warner's offices to ask that they stand strong to uphold SS benefits and make good on President Obama's pledge to raise taxes on those making over $250,000. That's what we voted for.

— Lexington, 2012-12-19 14:34:28

Sent emails to both tonight.

— Henrico, 2012-12-19 16:41:04

Left message to take SS off the table not negotiable. SS is not an ENTITLEMENT; we worked hard all our lives and contributed to this fund.

— Norfolk, 2012-12-19 18:23:55

Jim Webb is no longer taking any business calls or emails.

— Lottsburg, 2012-12-19 18:50:54

What is wrong with you? Please protect the middle class

— Alexandria, 2012-12-20 02:53:07

staffer says he has not made his decision known

— Richmond, 2012-12-20 08:01:31

I called both senators and spoke with a staff person for Jim Webb, but didn't feel like she was taking any notice of my message. I left a phone message for Mark Warner.

— Lovettsville, 2012-12-20 08:43:58

Calls to Senators Warner and Webb. Of course, as usual neither have a statement, although Webb is a strong of 2nd Amendment rights. I registered my view that there should be no cuts to Social Security, including the CPI. As for gun control I registered my position there should be a ban on assault weapons and that there should be national legislation forbidding buying guns at gun as well as gun stores without security checks.

— Ashburn, 2012-12-20 10:26:21

left msg with staffer

— Roanoke, 2012-12-20 11:49:01

I left voice mail messages for Senator Webb and Senator Warner to stand up for the citizens of the USA and VA and not agree on any ruling any thing that would cut social security benefits. On the contrary, the benefits should be increased if any deal were to be proposes. Stand as a representative for the citizens as we ask!

— Maurertown, 2012-12-20 11:54:48

Thanked me for my opinion, naturally....

— Virginia Beach, 2012-12-21 08:55:22

Please keep me informed of congress's actions. I can't take cuts to SS. I am disabled and that is my income!

If you support a bill that calls for SS benefits to be cut, you'll never receive another vote from me for the rest of my life. My friends feel the same. Such a vote would be both unneeded and a betrayal--a flat-out theft of money owed for a lifetime of hard work.

<a href=>replica watches Wholesale</a> just, We have seen rumors and expectations that the iwatch will be the company's savior. Actually, I really like these rumors and the potential for wearable computing devices. With TV being the clear running best loved, I wanted in an attempt to identify from a profit margin standpoint what the best decision could be for Apple. The watch make trades, Although appealing to less in revenue, Has margins almost four times that of the TV company. It was not until the past year or two that these began to acknowledge two groups who are silently delivering their own message to the content and network providers - such groups have been dubbed the "Cord blades" As well as the "Wire nevers,The cord cutters are people like myself who for the heck of it have stopped subscribing to cable. <a href=>swiss replica watches</a>
