Please block any and all efforts in Congress to cut the benefits (money, resources, discounts) of Medicare for the millions of us receiving Medicare! I vote only for candidates who support Medicare which has been a needed and valuable program for those of us 65 years or older. After 45 years of teaching college (including 3 medical colleges) that are fully certified I can say first hand that without Medicare, mamy of us (despite what our income was in recent years) that o0ur serfvices would not be available without Medicare! Tjamk you for caring for those in our ocuntry without the money to pay for those services without Medicare. Thank you very Sincerely, Rpcje;;e Lerm. Ph.D., MA, MPH

Dear Sir and Madam With all due respect, the Social Security funds belong to the working people. We have contributed our hard earned money into this plan. There is no reason to make any changes to this program; it is directly funded by the tax deductions of hard working Americans. Social Security is its own entity and has no correlation to the USA deficit or any other program, etc. Please don’t allow our money to be used for anything else than to subsidize our income during the so called “Golden Years”. Social Security was created for the working class. “It is by the people and for the people.” Hands off!!! Sincerely, Francesca Giglia

I thanked Senator Lautenberg for being a champion in the prevention of cutting social security, medicare and medicaid and other benefits. And that I believe President Obama's plan to only increase taxes for the 2% wealthy is the fair way to go; also that the middle classes and poverty levels should continue to have tax cuts. They will pass on to Senator Lautenberg

— Pine Beach, 2012-12-19 11:06:00

Senator Menendez had a recording; at Senator Lautenberg's office they said they would pass concerns on.

— Lindy Lake, 2012-12-19 11:11:36

I am a councilwoman in Rosell N.J. and my constituents have asked me to reach ot to the senators with regard to their rejection of social security cuts

— Roselle, 2012-12-19 11:39:32

Left clear message with offices of both senators, not to downsize social security

— East Brunswick, 2012-12-19 11:52:26

I am fortunate - both of my senators oppose any cuts to Social Security benefits. I spoke to a young man in each of the senator's offices on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 and was asked for my name and zip code.

— Chatham, 2012-12-19 12:35:09

Senator Menendez' offtce said they'd pass the message along to the senator. Senator Lautenberg's office seemed to take a harder stand and looked to assure me that the Senator would not compromise on this issue

— midland park, 2012-12-19 12:36:57

Senator Lautenberg will do everything in his power to stop cuts to Social Security and Medicare, and Medicaid. Left a message for Senator Menendez

— clifton, 2012-12-19 12:47:48

I had to leave a message for Sen. Menendez but a woman answered at Sen. Lautenberg's office, so I told her why I was calling and she said Sen. Lautenberg does not want to see cuts to Social Security benefits.

— Haddonfield, 2012-12-19 13:37:08

I voted for obama coming home from staying at an apt after Sandy destroyed my home. I would never have voted for Obama if I knew he'd do this. I will also never vote for the democratic senators. I even gave money to the obama campaign and I am on disability. Romney is looking better and better to me

— HOBOKEN, 2012-12-19 13:53:29

person answered phone to say "Just log in your call" Well, I'm saying DON'T MESS WITH SOCIAL SECURITY, NOT ONE PENNY.

— Edgewater Prk, 2012-12-19 14:18:18

I not only called both offices but also sent e-mail messages strongly urging both senators to reject any deal that involves social security.

— Neptune, 2012-12-19 14:42:55

I left messages with staff members at RM office and on a machine at FL office, even though it was within their stated business hours.

— East Brunswick, 2012-12-19 15:58:35

We sent you back to protect 250,000 & under and we are sacrificed AGAIN!!! This can't be true, we trusted you ! We believed you. Please Don't Cave!

— E. Orange , 2012-12-20 03:45:04

don't mess with ss not good enough to live on already

— Lambertville, 2012-12-20 07:13:29

Said they would

— WATCHUNG, 2012-12-20 10:35:15

was answered by an office worker who stated that they would relay my message voicing my opposition to social aid cuts

— Mt Holly, 2012-12-20 11:02:59

spoke to someone who Lautenberg was a strong supporter of the social security program--not sure if that means he would oppose any cuts.

— Princeton, 2012-12-20 11:26:20

Person answering the Lautenberg phone said he would pass my message on, but offered no conversation. I asked if he received alot of calls and he indicated yes...that was it. At Menendez office I called during business hours but was prompted to leave a msg on voicemail. All very par for the course, why isn't congress messing with their own salaries...just shameful. If they mess with SS I will have lost all faith...a total disappointment...shameful!!!(was asked to leave my name & zip code at Menendez office). Do politicians really care after election?

— Lakewood, 2012-12-20 11:32:05

I asked to stop the deal and leave social security alone.

— South Hackensack, 2012-12-20 11:55:34

Thank you for supporting NO CUTS to social security. Cut the bloated military budget instead.

— Little Egg Harbor, 2012-12-21 04:31:04

why would they take from the people that already need money. Most folk on SS doesn't have a pension or savings. This is what they rely on. The saying is so true " The rich get richer and the poor gets poorer" Why? because of greed.

— Mount Holly, 2012-12-23 20:02:57

Senators Frank Lautenberg & Senator Robert Menendez Sed They Support No Changes To Social Security By Email To Me

— Barnegat, 2012-12-24 00:11:21

They are already on board with the people .

Actually, my Battle Cry is I want to keep more of what I earned. Yours is, Give it all to Obama and Pelosi and let them diecde. As for evolving, I was taught (and I'm sure you were too, unless you were brought up in the USSR) that there was a process for changing the Constitution, it's called Amending and the process is clearly enumerated in the original document (those Founding Fathers were really smart guys). Evolving was a liberal invention to get around the proper amending of the Constitution (i.e., the will of the people.P.S. Speaking of Founding Fathers, have you been able to find any referencable sites that back up one of your most ridiculous claims to-date That Adam Smith was a Founding Father?? P.P.S. In case you lost your copy, here's the applicable language about Amending the Constitution Article. V.The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.
