In order to understand our members feelings on Afghanistan, we wrote to more than 50,000 members after President Obama's speech and said: "President Obama just announced that he's sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan and that we'll keep roughly 100,000 troops in Afghanistan until at least July, 2011. You can read his speech explaining his decision here."
When asked, "Do you favor or oppose the U.S. war in Afghanistan?" most opposed the war, while a small portion supported it.

When asked, "Can you let us know which of the following most accurately reflects your opinion?" 56% opposed any escalation. 4% were willing to send more troops, but not as many or for as long as the President wants. 41% support the President's plan.
