Representative Todd Akin's comment about "legitimate rape" was not a gaffe. It was a glimpse into the GOP War on Women.
A woman's right to choose is fundamental. If Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney want to truly distance themselves from Representative Todd Akin, they should lead on removing the abortion ban for rape survivors from their party's platform--and they shouldn't stop there. They should remove all platform planks that undermine women's reproductive freedom.
The Republican Convention is next week, and we want to confront Ryan and Romney with a massive petition tomorrow. So we need to act fast! Can you sign the petition and ask everyone you know to sign, too?
Note: The petition language has been revised to call on the removal of all planks in the Republican platform that undermine a women's reproductive freedom.
A compiled petition with your individual comment will be presented to Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney.
